Re-connect

Re-connect with your career with our return-to-work programme

Our re-connect programme is designed to support anyone returning to work after a career break.

Whether you’re finding your return to work daunting or challenging, or are just starting your search, the programme is designed to develop and re-energise your skills, and aims to support you in securing a permanent role.

As part of the programme, we offer mentoring and coaching support as well as training to help rebuild your confidence and update your technical skills. Our Re-connect roles are paid positions which provide an opportunity to gain relevant work experience with us for six months, with a view to securing a permanent position with us.

Who is the re-connect return to work programme for?

Our re-connect programme is suitable for anyone who has taken a career break of around 18 months or more.

We welcome applications from people at all levels, whether you have worked in the sector or discipline before, or have transferrable skills from other areas or industries.

You may have left the industry to run your own business, or taken a career break to raise children. Perhaps you stopped work during an illness, took time away to care for a relative or stepped away from employment, and are looking to return to your career.

What our colleagues all have in common is that we’re working together to develop some of the UK’s most complex and critical infrastructure across six core sectors including energy, water, nuclear, aviation, highways and rail.

We believe in connecting people, places and communities through innovative and responsible infrastructure; experience in the infrastructure sector is not a pre-requisite for every role, but a genuine interest in what we do and how we do it is.
