Northumberland Park

The fifth stop on the line after Seaton Delaval is Northumberland Park station, located adjacent to the Nexus metro station.  

Works to install a single platform and construct lift and stair access from Algernon Bridge have been underway since 2023.

To carry out these works, a piling wall has been installed between the local residents’ gardens and the new platform, and 3,000 tonnes of grouting has been pumped to stabilise the ground and treat voids.

This station officially opened to the public on Sunday 22 February 2026.
