Newsham

The stop after Blyth Bebside on the Northumberland Line is Newsham Station.

The works involved constructing twin platforms with a new station footbridge and lift access on both sides, ensuring accessibility for all passengers.

Two new car parks have been built, featuring EV charging points and disability parking bays, alongside extensive highway improvements.

These works included the reconfiguration of the A1061 South Newsham Road and the opening of the new Newsham road bridge on the A1061 in Blyth on Thursday 1 August 2024.

The new road bridge allowed the installation of the state-of-the-art signalling system and enabled the use of new track along the route.

The station officially opened to passengers on Monday 17 March 2025.
