Colindale Station Redevelopment
The Colindale Station redevelopment project is a major upgrade to the existing station, aiming to improve capacity, accessibility, and the overall customer experience.
The project includes a new station entrance building, a larger ticket hall, step-free access via a new lift, and additional retail space.
Project overview
Colindale Station is located within the London Borough of Barnet, on the Edgware branch of the London Underground (LU) Northern Line, Zone 4.
The station is being demolished in two phases. The new station will span the railway cutting and provide step-free access to platform level. This phasing enabled the station closure duration to be minimised by reopening the existing station once the new slab and temporary tunnel were installed.
The new station will become an architectural focal point for the local area and provide capacity enhancement of the station, aligning with the booming local population.
Key features include a wide gate-line and lift to optimise passenger flow through the station.
