We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Planner within our Energy division for the TGGUP project with National Grid

 

The role

Working on the new upcoming TGGUP framework. This is an amazing opportunity to work as part of a collaborative project enterprise team. The role will require the development of the framework programmes from cradle-grave and presenting to the internal and client teams on a regular basis. Project controls and reporting within the enterprise will be key and processes and procedures will need to be developed between all the enterprise partners and will form part of the senior planners remit.

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience of working on large/ complex construction or infrastructure schemes previously.
  • Ability to build a robust, credible programme from scratch working closely with subject matter experts and capturing key opportunities, assumptions and risks for the projects at tender stage.
  • Experience of Managing planners and trainee planners and ensuring any development requirements are captured and actioned to progress and grow successful team members.
  • The ability to present to senior management and clients regularly and ensuring adequate detailed is captured in presentations.
  • Advanced in the use of P6 and using client databases.
  • EVM and project controls experience (Working in a PMO would be great but not a deal breaker)
  • Advanced understanding of NEC contract requirements and different options. Clear understanding and previous experience with change management.
  • Great communication skills and able to articulate to all teams clearly and on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are achieved. Ability to drive the lookahead requirements with the project managers and site/ project staff.
  • Programme Resource management and cost management for internal/ external requirements
  • Time Chainage software experience
  • Risk management and experience within a live project environment (Use of SAFRAN is a bonus) but a good understanding is essential.

 

Desirables:

  • Energy experience delivering large complex schemes.
  • Working for key clients previously such as NG and SSEN
  • Experience working within a PMO for a large portfolio of projects.
  • Experience conducting programme risk workshops and the SAFRAN software.
  • Experience is using ARC GIS software.
  • Civil engineering, project controls or project management background

About our Energy business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
