About the Apprenticeship

 

 

Our structured Apprenticeship porgramme covers a variety of personal development and technical training to support your well-rounded development. Our programme blends practical exposure to enhance your discipline specific abilities whilst enhancing your individual personal development during your early career. 

You’ll also be offered a professional scheme mentor to help you on your path to chartership with your specific professional institute.

About the project:

 

Located in the south-east of London, the upgrade to the existing Surrey Quays station is to provide a new second station entrance, second gate line, step free access, an additional footbridge, platform extensions and increased staff facilities. The upgrade to the existing Surrey Quays station is required to accommodate the forecast increase in demand. The project is currently planned to complete in early 2026.

 

What will you
be doing?

 

 

Assist the commercial team to carry out quantity surveying and finance duties.

Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policy

Undertake costing activities, under direction, utilising a sound working knowledge of the cost coding structure for the project

Measure completed works for allocated sections of the project, for interim and final accounts, including recording agreements with client and/or subcontract representatives

Collate and / or produce site records necessary for interim and final account payments and cost reports, including materials received records

Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract

Provide comprehensive financial and surveying related information as required by senior management, including monthly performance review meetings

Measure the works for payment and final account purposes

Record all relevant events for delay and loss and expense claims

Measurement, certification and agreement of subcontractor accounts

Assist site management in provision of statistics and other surveying related information for customer meetings

Measurement of operatives work for the monetary payment system

Liaise with customer representatives and other members of the team to ensure effective communications and a cohesive working environment

 

What qualifications
do I require?

 

Five GCSE’s grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math’s, English and a Science or Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Ability to travel to remote locations.

Ideally some exposure to a construction/ engineering environment.
