About the project

Scheme Delivery Framework is National Highways project to keep England’s motorways and major A roads running safely and smoothly.

Some of the current projects are:

Lydiate Ash

Works in an existing National Highways depot in Lydiate Ash, Bromsgrove, adjacent Junction 4 of the M5 Motorway.  The works include the demolition of an existing Salt Barn, the installation of Contig Pile Retaining wall to lower the levels within the depot and to install a new Salt barn at the lower level. Works have commenced in Jan 2023 and are currently programmed to run until March 2024.

A5 Oswestry Roundabouts

Widening of an existing roundabout on the A5 near Oswestry to improve traffic flows on the A5 and side roads at the roundabout.  Works will include the setting up of a site compound, utility diversions, localised earthworks adjacent to the A5, new drainage and street lighting installations.  Outline programme is to commence the works on site in late summer 2023 for a circa 6 – 8 month period.

What will you
be doing?

Contracts and procurement: recording and monitoring variations to the contract and ascertaining the time and cost impacts involved.

Measurement: Measuring works scope both from design and on site also involves recording progress and valuing the work, based on agreed contract rates.

Cost forecasting: This involves forecasting the final costs of projects or work packages (individual contracts within a project). You will review tender documents, contract variations, and use this to calculate the final figure payable.

Monitoring profit and loss against agreed scheme budgets: This involves compiling monthly reports to show the progress of a project. Tasks include recording costs incurred and future costs, producing summaries showing monies coming in and going out, monitoring risks, and reporting on factors likely to affect profitability.

Supporting our Project Commercial Teams in the identification & management of Risks and Opportunities throughout the life cycle of SMA Scheme Delivery.

Liaising with customers and with our Supply Chain Partners: You will need to attend meetings with both and advise them on any commercial issues that arise.

Throughout the project you will typically meet with the customer either every week or every fortnight and these meetings may last for between one and three hours.
