About the projects

The SHEQ Functional Team operates across the Infrastructure business, acting as a support service to the wider business and sectors. The team has key responsibilities for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, as well as Responsible Business, providing advice to the business as well as driving strategies and approaches. The team is led by the SHEQ Director who is a member of the Infrastructure Management Team.

In the Energy and Water business unit our teams work within the energy and water sectors, helping our customers make the most of their existing assets as well as building new assets to continually improve the UK’s energy and water infrastructure. We do this by putting our customers first, using innovative ideas and challenging the status quo.

Our customers are National Grid, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, BAE Systems, Welsh Water, and Tideway.

We support energy companies across the UK in delivering a cleaner, more reliable, and greener energy transmission network. Our teams provide progressive and innovative high-quality solutions from the design and building of new systems to the maintenance and enhancement of existing assets such as high-pressure gas installations, high-voltage overhead lines, substations and underground cables.

Whether building new assets or replacing existing with more efficient alternatives, our philosophy of Responsible Business, Perfect Delivery and our drive for continuous improvement enables us to share innovation and best practice to optimise design and delivery and support the UK’s journey towards Net Zero by 2050.

We work with leading water companies on projects of every scale, and have extensive experience in creating resilient, high quality water and wastewater facilities that safeguard supply, helping to remove properties from the flood risk register, and contributing to a cleaner environment by reducing the frequency and impact of flood events. Whether delivering major new infrastructure in UK cities, building smaller treatment works, or maintaining existing assets, we help our customers through collaborative alliances, frameworks or individual projects to supply communities whilst protecting our environment throughout the UK. Our end-to-end solutions include civil engineering, tunnelling, mechanical and electrical design, and installation, all of which is supported by cutting edge digital construction techniques and innovative processes and equipment.

We currently have opportunities on our Energy Scotland and on our Welsh Water Framework.

Our projects are UK wide and can be in rural and remote locations and therefore the ability to drive and hold a valid driving license is essential.
