Opportunity:
As our head of communications, you will lead the strategic development and execution of internal communications which will build an internal understanding of our business strategy, culture and values. You will work closely with the communication officers within the business units to ensure alignment of plans and messaging. You will work across multiple channels to reach colleagues who are both connected through IT and those who are connected face to face. You will oversee a strategy which will be insight-led, builds pride in our brand and brings our purpose and values to life. You will be someone who will bring a strong vision for taking our internal communications function forward, ensuring new and emerging channels are part of the communications mix. The role will also include the oversight of external communications, social media and PR. You will work closely with the external engagement manager on ensuring the brand is positioned for future work winning.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To lead, develop and execute internal communications, in line with the wider business strategy and priorities, ensuring consistency and alignment of internal communication activities
- Oversee the delivery of employee engagement events & experiences that deliver against business priorities and bring our values to life
- Partner the divisions and provide strategic counsel and executive writing support to the MD and leadership team. Develop messaging and internal presentations for company updates, key initiatives, industry issues and other topics
- Provide a voice to Team Members through digital channels and find innovative ways to reach them directly, facilitating two-way conversation
- Work closely with functional teams and business units to ensure our internal tone of voice and style is reflected in our employee brand proposition externally, identifying and implementing communications opportunities to connect leadership with employees, and support in developing key messages and communications materials
- Establish and track metrics that help correlate internal communications programs to employee productivity and organisational performance
To be successful in this role, you will:
be a leader with experience of managing both internal and external comms.
have an understanding of communications trends, digital experience and best practice
have strong influencing skills, stakeholder management abilities and ability to manage external agencies
Be insight-led in developing a strategy to ensure that plans reflect the requirements of the audience
Be a values-led people leader who prioritises the development of their team
